About Lana Boodhoo

Dr. Lana Boodhoo is an experienced cardiologist and electrophysiologist who serves patient needs in Trinidad, West Indies. With a research-informed practice that reflects over a decade of training in the UK, Dr. Lana Boodhoo diagnoses, treats, and manages a range of heart rhythm abnormalities. At Advanced Cardiovascular Institute Limited Cath Lab, Dr. Boodhoo pioneered the use of a 3D mapping system to undertake ablation, or destruction of heart tissue associated with arrhythmias. She performed the first atrial fibrillation ablation in the region and set in place a Rapid Diagnostic Center for Syncope. This involved introducing tilt table testing and insertable loop recorders to investigate fainting. Dr. Boodhoo holds a doctor of medicine from the University of London and undertook her undergraduate medical work in Jamaica at the University of the West Indies. She has coauthored numerous papers in her field, including “The impact of atrial antitachycardia pacing on quality of life in paroxysmal atrial fibrillation” (Heart Rhythm, 2006). Dr. Boodhoo enjoys cooking, self-development, and travel.
